This is a book of pictures taking by Gabriel J. García around de world.
Almost twenty years have passed since that encounter at home with Gabi, where for the very first time he had, in his hands, copies of good quality of the images taking at Hurdes.
That was the ‘decisive instant’ to awaken all his artistic potential and to direct it through that magical, newly discovered world of Photography.
From that moment, his restlessness marked the course, so that in a self-taught way, he
began to work on his images and delved into the photographic language.
In this book appears, in a summarized version, the evolution of a natural instinct that, somehow, he already knew how to frame the grandeur of the landscapes and the most honest way to show the Humanity of the portraits.
Showing his photos is an opportunity to surprise the observer and, at the same time, surprise him-self. Focus on the essential that moves him to capture the beauty of life, is a form of internal maturation, personal reference of growth and permanent knowledge.
The title of this work sets us on a continuing author´s journey through which Gabriel continues travelling, which means that we can look forward to new projects, full of sensitivity and honesty, free of artifices and vanities, essential requirements to feed that timeless ‘Trunk of Ulysses’.
